The details

A chip on your shoulder can drive you a long way. But at some point it starts to consume you, and you end up carrying the person who doubted you while you forget the ones who helped.

This print comes from Chris Hunt's reflection on needing to prove himself, and realizing he was chasing an outcome, a destination, rather than a life. Drive can be useful. It can get you ahead. But there's a point where you have to step back and ask where your life fits in.

It isn’t about the wrong kind of drive. It’s being aware of it.

Frederic Remington's The Stampede (1908) puts a rider in a night storm with the herd. Hang it where you'll see it on the days the drive starts riding you.
