Holt Privacy

Effective September 30, 2026. This notice covers Holt, the private personal AI assistant developed and operated by Chris Hunt for Code of the West. It covers Holt's Google connections, not purchases or ordinary browsing on the Code of the West storefront.

Information Holt accesses

With the owner's Google authorization, the Gmail connection reads message content and metadata, such as sender, recipients, subject, dates, labels, and message identifiers. It can search the mailbox and inspect changes to support requested summaries and monitoring. A separately authorized Google Calendar connection reads calendar events and availability. Holt also keeps the connected account identifier, granted scopes, and access and refresh tokens needed to maintain the connection. These connectors request read-only access and do not send, delete, or edit Google data.

Purpose and processing

Holt uses connected information to perform the owner's requested assistant tasks: finding information, summarizing messages, preparing responses for review, checking availability, and identifying important arrivals under an explicit monitoring instruction. Connected content is evidence, not permission to take new actions.

The owner selects the inference provider. With a hosted model, including OpenAI through the configured Codex transport, relevant instructions, conversation context, and retrieved Google content are transmitted to that provider for processing. Provider-side storage and retention depend on the selected service and account settings. A local model processes inference on the owner's equipment. Local ownership of Holt's records does not mean that hosted inference is local.

Storage and access

Holt stores Google credentials in owner-restricted files on the host. Conversation history, source excerpts, task evidence, saved pages, and follow-through records may also contain connected information. Access is limited by the host's operating-system permissions and the authenticated companion connection. Do not assume that every local file is independently encrypted.

Apple's notification service receives a device token and a generic update notice; the push message does not contain email content. Detailed results are retrieved inside the authenticated Holt app. Authorized troubleshooting may require inspection of task evidence on the owner's system.

Use limits

Holt does not sell Google user data, use it for advertising, or use it to train a generalized AI or machine-learning model. Transfers for inference are used to provide the requested assistant features. Holt's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs is subject to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

Retention, revocation, and deletion

The owner can stop a monitoring responsibility or revoke Holt's Google access at Google Account connections. Revocation prevents future authorized reads; it does not automatically erase previously saved conversations, excerpts, pages, backups, or provider records. Local saved work and audit records remain until the owner removes them through the applicable record and backup controls. Provider-held records are governed by that provider's retention and deletion controls.

For assistance with access or removal of Holt-held records, contact Chris Hunt through the Code of the West contact page. Material changes to the data accessed or its use require an updated disclosure and the relevant consent before the new use begins.
